How do I get trained and take the online course needed to volunteer?

**You MUST have completed the online courses and be ServSafe certified before working events.**

While working at the Savemart Center, we handle food and serve alcohol to customers - many times in large amounts. All new volunteers must complete online ServSafe Alcohol and Food Handling courses before being permitted to volunteer. Everyone 21 years and older who wants to volunteer at the SMC MUST complete the courses. Successful course completion grants certification which lasts 3 years. Savemart Center Parking and Check In
Free parking is available in the dirt lot across from the SMC (NE corner of Chestnut & Shaw). Go to the tower and enter at the door facing Shaw Ave. Sign your name at the check in table just inside the door and then head to your booth. Always be on time! We will get deducted money for anyone that is late or is a no-show.
Dress Code: You MUST wear black pants (no jeans) and pull your hair back. A SMC polo shirt will be provided to you by your Stand Leader at the booth assigned to you.
IMPORTANT!
To sign up for an event, click on the event you wish to work from the upcoming events list on this page and add your name. If you sign up for an event, your name will be put on a list of those people available to work that event. The more people we have signed up will likely get us more stands to staff.
Signing up does not guarantee working a stand. If you are assigned to work, you will get an email from Marco Mellone asking you to confirm that event. Once he receives your confirmation, your name is given to the Savemart Center to work that date.
REMEMBER: If you are signing up to work a stand, you are committing to being there and showing up on time.
