Good afternoon Reyburn Instrumental Music! Here are your weekly news.
This Week: May 21-25th
Monday: Odd periods
FUNDRAISERS:
Red carpet car wash tickets ($15 each with $8 going back to our students) are happening now! These are a great fundraiser and make a wonderful gift. Order form is attached here. We only have 100 coming and sales will be first come first serve.
Last week we started our chocolate bars ($1, with $.50 going back to our students) sales! Students are required to fill out a permission slip to participate in this fundraiser. Once they sign out a box students are responsible for selling the entire box. We unfortunately cannot take back any open boxes and the company won’t take back any of the boxes we ordered. We still have over 80 boxes that haven’t even been checked out and we will have to pay for these regardless. Please encourage your student to help do their part for our music program fundraising efforts!
We have a few Jamba BOGO cards left over from last year. Another perfect gift! If you’d like some of those they are $10 each. Please send cash or check with your student to stock up for another hot summer.
Please start signing up to help work the fireworks booth this summer! We currently have THREE parents signed up to work the 45 different shifts we need covered to make this happen. We physically can not have a fireworks booth if we do not have a minimum of two parents each shift. I will be there working, volunteering every day, for my students. Please please please do what you can to sign up for at least ONE shift. Last year we made about $13,000 from fireworks sales! Please sign up on charms to work 1 or 2 shifts so we can make a big dent in our fundraising efforts for next year. If you can’t work a shift but want to help send anyone and everyone you know to our fireworks booth on the southwest corner of Shaw and Armstrong in that big dirt lot. NOT the booth next to Save Mart. Again, we’re the booth in the dirt lot across the street. On Tuesday, July 3rd we’ll have students at the booth on instruments, with flags and waving signs to get some attention and extra business. All students are welcomed and strongly encouraged to come. After getting your fireworks that day and picking up your student you can stop by Mickey’s Yogurt for our ALL DAY fundraiser with them (July 3).
End of the Year Due Dates and Deadlines:
All uniforms due THIS WEEK! Guard dresses, borrowed guard warm-ups, marching pants and shoes, and polos. If you borrowed any clothing item it must be turned in WASHED and folded nicely (or hanging) the week of May 21st. All items due no later than Friday, May 25th. If your student is moving to 9th grade and no longer needs his/her polo that you purchased, we will glad take any donations of used polos. If you’d like a letter for your taxes including this donation please let me know and I will send that home ASAP. If you’ve lost any item, please let me know asap so I can tell you the amount needed to replace that item.
Written Finals for Symphonic Band, String Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra will take place May 23rd or 24th depending when the class meets.
All school instruments are due by May 30th.
