String Orchestra is open to all students interested in playing a string instrument, in any grade or ability level. This group focuses on the basics and fundamentals of string playing while also exposing students to the challenges and rewards of string repertoire. The group performs at concerts and festivals throughout the year. Most 7th Grade students will be placed in the String Orchestra.
Chamber Orchestra is a premiere orchestra experience for string players. Students will play a variety of challenging and rewarding repertoire, for string ensemble and chamber ensembles. The Advanced Orchestra will perform at concerts and festivals through the year, and may require some after-school commitment for rehearsal of Symphony Orchestra with wind and percussion students.
For the 2081-19 school year we will be expanding the Reyburn Orchestras into three levels!!!
Reyburn Beginning String Orchestra + Reyburn Intermediate Orchestra + Reyburn Advanced Chamber Orchestra
The Reyburn Beginning String Orchestra will be an ensemble especially for our beginning level students. Most incoming 7th graders will be placed into this ensemble as well as any new student that would like to learn a string instrument. Everyone is welcomed! The Reyburn Intermediate Orchestra will be for returning 8th grade students and more advanced level 7th graders. The Reyburn Advanced Chamber Orchestra will be a small ensemble composed of the most advanced level string musicians at Reyburn Intermediate School. All ensembles will perform at our annual Tri-Tip Dinner, Fall Concert, Winter Concert, Pre-Festival Concert, Festivals around the central valley and our Spring Concert.
Auditions are required for Intermediate and Advanced level ensembles. Incoming 7th graders are placed into an ensemble based on the Fundamental Skills Test scores and director recommendation.
